The Swisson XPD-28 Opto-Splitter can split and isolate two (2) separate universes of DMX and RDM data to any of its eight (8) optically isolated outputs. While splitting the DMX and RDM data the XPD-28 also boosts and refreshes the data signals in real-time.

The XPD-28 is completely is compatible with RDM (when enabled) allowing for bi-directional communication between RDM capable devices and controllers. RDM can be disabled for each input universe if required, and DMX framerates can be set to specific timings for each input universe if compatibility with older equipment requires specific timings. 40hz, 30hz, 20Hz and 10Hz options are all offered both with “Frame Integrity” and without.

You can quickly and easily choose which of the two inputs (A or B) is output from each port by simply pushing the ports configuration button and rotating the encoder. Instantaneous port setting feedback is given both on the OLED display and the ports RGB led indicator (Amber is set to port A, Blue is set to port B.) By utilizing the XPD-28’s OLED display and metal rotary encoder it is quick and easy to navigate the rest of the settings menu to make any changes to the device’s enhanced settings. Once the unit is setup it is possible to password lock the unit so that settings cannot be changed by unauthorized users.

The XPD-28 monitors the DMX signal in real-time and can provide technical feedback on its OLED display. The current DMX framerate and a DMX channel overview can both help with troubleshooting any data issues you may be having.

The XPD-28 offers both “Off” (No DMX sent) and “Hold Last Look” failure modes if data is lost at the input port.

Although we generally stock only the XLR-5 models, both XLR-3 and RJ-45 models are available. For more information and availability of those, please contact us.
