Swisson XES-2T6 Managed Ethernet Switch

The Swisson XES-2T6 is a managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch designed specifically for the entertainment industry. It dedicates two ports to aggregated high throughput redundant trunk lines between switches. Port aggregation enables the two ports to share their bandwidth between switches to increase available speeds between switches. Port redundancy allows you to run two separate ethernet lines between a pair of XES-2T6 switches so that in the event that one of the cables is damaged your network will have an in-place failover cable ready to continue transferring data between the switches.

The XES-2T6’s other 6 ports can be set to individually assignable groups. The groups are standard IEEE 802.1Q vLANS (Virtual LANs) which allow the creation of separate networks quickly and easily on a single network switch, or group of network switches. These independent networks do not interfere with each other in any way and are shared between switches over the trunk lines.

The Swisson XES-2T6 leverages the same OLED screen and metal encoder button found on other Swisson devices to make setup of the device quick and simple. Creating vLANs can literally be done with the push of a button at the port, the twist of the encoder knob and the push of the encoder button. The XES-2T6 utilizes the same fantastic build quality as Swisson’s other products, ensuring that you are purchasing a device that will perform as designed even after a hard life in the studio or on the road.
Being specifically created for creating entertainment industry networks the XES-2T6 is optimized for Art-Net, sACN and Dante protocols. That said the XES-2T6 is a Layer 2 switch and it will work well with any protocol that operates over Ethernet and TCP/IP protocols. One of the optimizations is that there is no sleep mode when no traffic is observed, which can happen frequently with Art-Net, and the switch is always ready to forward data without delay. There are also no broadcast bandwidth limitations which is great for earlier versions of Art-Net.

To further ensure network reliability the XES-2T6 offers inputs for two separate power supplies leaving you with a redundant power source if required.
